Moçoilas appears after the need they felt to uphold and spread the traditional sounds from the Algarve (south of Portugal). They recuperate many of the early themes from that region, bringing them a life of their own. Songs undergo a work of appropriation and adaptation which pave the way to lively and energetic performances. Three women with sweet, thick and simple harmonies resonate the soul of Algarvian mountains and its sounds, smells and colours. Margarida Guerreiro, who has witnessed the growth of the cultural project for 22 years, is now responsible for it along with Inês Rosa and Teresa da Silva.
